伏見稲荷大社

This is the main shrine found at the base of Inari mountain. It is open 24 hours so you may opt to hike it in the night or day. I went at night with someone to avoid the crowds and we got to experience the place mostly to ourselves. Seeing it takes 2-3 hours of your day. To access it, you can either take the JR line or take a bus from Kyoto station. Admission is free.
